Upcoming Releases in the Reserve Series

Based upon the success of our Melange a Trois, we continue to broaden the list of offerings within the Reserve Series line.

Fathead Barley Wine 2010 - Next Release Late Oct. 2010

Our 2010 release is in the barrel and slated for an approximate Oct. release. This will be a "full" release in the 1,100 bottle range.

A rich, full bodied Barley Wine with a wonderfully warming character from the malts & dark brown sugars. Held to the light, its burgundy color is fitting for a bigger beer that has aromatics that hint of the oak, the whiskey, the somewhat sweet nature, and molasses that makes this beer truly unique. The non-barrel-aged version of this beer took Silver in the 2009 US Open Beer Championships. Using Stranahan’s Whiskey barrels, we aged this beer for 6 months to impart a small amount of oak tannins and the whiskey character that combine to elevate this beer beyond its original entry into this world.

11.3% ABV. Excellent to enjoy now and cellerable for years. $19.99. 750 mL bottle

.

Black Betty Russian Imperial Stout 2010 - Next Release Late Sept. 2010

Our 2010 release is in the barrel and slated for an approximate Sept. release. This will be a "full" release in the 1,100 bottle range.

Black as night and every bit Imperial, this RIS was originally launched to tremendous accolades. Going further, this Stranahan’s Whiskey barrel aged version meshes the rich chocolates, the coffee-like aromatics with the sweet whiskey nose and drying character of the oak. Slightly behind on the palette are the hops – held in restraint by the wonderfully full mouthfeel and broad flavors brought on by the perfect blend of so many malted barley varieties.

9.3% ABV. Ready to enjoy upon release and perfect for extended cellaring. $19.99. 750 mL bottle

.

Melange a Trois 2010 - Out now.

Melange a Trois was the 3rd in the trio to take Silvers in their respective categories at the 2009 US Open Beer Championship.

Our first beer in the Reserve Series, Melange a Trois begins with a wonderfully big Strong Belgian-Style Blonde Ale and moves into the extraordinary category through an additional 6 month French Oak Chardonnay Wine Barrel maturation.

The essence of Chardonnay permeates while a subtle sweetness remains from the Ale itself.

Oak tannins combine to create a fascinating mesh of dry, sweet, and wine-like character.

One of our favorites!

10% ABV. The 2008 Release is tasting absolutely fantastic at over 1 year in the bottle. $19.99. 750 mL bottle

And in case anyone from Sutter Home is confused - this is a beer... with a name that translates into "Blend of 3", from a brewery... with a label that says beer 5 times... and has the logo of the brewery on it... and yes, beer contains alcohol... and this bottle has a cap instead of a cork... and in the stores, they put these where the beer goes... and it has the website address of our brewery on it...

.

Chardonnay French Oak Hop God 2010(b) - Next Release Late Dec. 2010

Contained within this bottle is an artful creation which began with our Hop God Belgian-Style IPA which was then enhanced by a 6 month maturation in French Oak Chardonnay Barrels.

This version of Hop God is a fascinating, big, bold Belgian-style Tripel hopped in very high amounts to concentrate citrus, grapefruit and floral aromatics in the nose.

The addition of Chardonnay barrel aging adds further dimension and oak tannins to an already wonderfully complex Ale.

We know of nothing that compares. Enjoy!

10% ABV and a larger 101 IBUs. Absolutely enjoyable upon release & we believe cellarable for at least 2 years. $19.99. 750 mL bottle
